Gvardiyske, Khmelnitskiy district.

A village received its name in 1947 but before that date it was a lively town of Felshtin. It was founded in 1584 by Mikola Herburt who gained the King’s document to settle a castle and a town over the swamps where the Smotrich had its sourse. Numerous Catholic comunity built a grand cathedral in 1763 there. It still stands on its place.
